Locations You must Visit
v Munnar,
Thekady and Allepy are the main scenic locations in Kerala
v Most
of the attractions are in south side of Kerala and you should not plan for more
than 4 nights and 5 Days in kerala.
§ You
can either plan from north side of Kerala (KOCHI/ERNAKULAM) and travel towards
South (Trivandrum) or south to North
§ I
recommend to start from South that is 1st
Trivandrum à 2nd
Alleppy à 3rd
Thekkady à
Munnar à
and finally Kochi if going by Flight
v Unless
you have plan to visit Temples ( Padmanabhan Swami temple and other) there is no point going to
Trivandrum.then you can plan AlleppyàTekkadyàMunnaràKochi
§ Beach
in Trivandrum is useless and no need to go there just for beach.
§ Its
four to five hours of boring journey between Trivandrum and Alleppy/Allapuza
Reaching Kerala and travel within Kerala

TRAIN
• Netravati
Express is a train you can take from Panvel(Mumbai) which takes about 24 hours to reach Kerala.
• You
can either get down at Ernakulum/Kochi (North Side of Kerala) and start your
Car/Bus Journey to start with Munnar
• Or
get down at Alleppy and start with House Boat and then to Thekkady
• Or
get down at Trivandrum and start with Padmanabhan Temple

AIR
• There
are two Airports which you can use . COCHI (North) and Trivandrum (South)
• If
you want to plan from South to North ,take flight for Trivendrum Airport
• If you want to plan from North to South ,take flighty for Cochi Airport

Kochi is Indian NAVY Base and one of the main attraction
here is RAJA RAVI VARMA Painting
Museum
You can cover this while going towards Munnar on the way
from Ernakulum
Munnar

Nights
Munnar is hill station so driving around munnar through tea
garden itself is a fun.
Most of the hotels including Club Mahindra Resorts are
around 20 KMs from Munnar Village . Ask for hotel near this area. This is nice
place to relax.
It takes around 4 hours to reach Munnar from Ernakulum Train
Station

Munnar to Thekkady is around 120 KMs which will take around
3 to 4 hours as it is ghat road.Reach here over night so next day you have to
start for Safari early Morning by 5 or 6 AM
v This
is where Periyar National Park is . Most of the attractions in Thekkady are
here. You can take either of it.

§ Boat ride in Jungle Back waters Rs. 3000 for 8 people
§ Jeep Ride Rs.3000
§ Vinery (Grape Farm) Jeep Ride ( Kerala to Tamilnadu Scenic Road

Allepy

Night
Thekkady to Allepy is
around 120 KMs which will take around 3 to 4 hours traffic road. Reach at the
Boat ride venue before 11 AM so you can get the complete ride
v You
can rent House Boat which is around 10000 for 2Bed Rooms. This includes Lunch
,Dinner and next day Breakfast. Very Taste food though.
v If
you don’t want to stay overnight in the Houseboat opt for Cruise Boat ride
which will take you through the same route
and take you back
§ Staying in Houseboat is good
experience for Honeymoon Couples. Not recommended for Family with Kids. The
water the boats take you through is Backwater and you may be disappointed due
to Water odour and there is nothing much to do unless you want to booze .
